Hi Church Family

It is that time of year where Champion City Church gears up to partner with Operation Christmas Child (Samaritans Purse International Relief Canada) to bless struggling children in need across the world by filling a shoebox of quality gifts such as toys, school supplies, and hygiene items.
 
The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.   Since 1993, more than 232 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.  More than 11.9 million shoebox gifts were collected globally in 2024 and more than 20.2 million boys and girls have made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.   Many are now praying for and sharing their faith with family and friends.   Praise God!!! 

Shoeboxes will be available for pickup on Sundays by the Info Centre, if you do not wish to fill a shoebox but would still like to participate, you may bring any loose items to the church OR go online to fill a shoebox.  Samaritan's Purse Pack-a-Box (samaritanspurse.ca)  

Shoebox Pickup:  Starts Sunday October 19 by the Information Centre or visit our office (Tues-Fri 9-4pm) 
Filled Shoebox Dropoff:  Starts Sunday October 26-November 16 (A dropoff box will be available in our lobby for your filled shoebox(s) on October 26) 
Loose Gifts Dropoff:  Starts Sunday October 19 (bring your loose gifts to the church Info Centre on Sundays or during office hours (Tuesday-Friday 9-4pm) Filled shoeboxes & bags of loose items must be brought to the church NO LATER than Sunday November 16.
 
By giving a minimum $12 donation per shoebox or bag of loose gifts, you help cover the costs of shipping and other project-related costs.  
How to pack a shoebox brochure will also be available at our table by the Information Centre, this includes an envelope for your $12 donation with shoebox labels and instructions.  Note: Tax receipts from Samaritans Purse will be issued for eligible donations over $20 at the end of 2025.  (Please place your $12 cheque or cash in your shoebox or bag, ALL cheques made payable to Samaritans Purse Canada) Please do not make payment for the shoe boxes through the church!   

Champion City Church will be organizing a packing party on Friday November 14th @ 6:30pm in the Connect Centre for any loose items brought to the church.  If this is of interest to you and you would like to help out, please signup at the Operation Christmas Child table near the Information Centre or connect with Paula by calling the office Tuesday-Friday 9-4pm at 825-467-8443.  (Volunteers required will be based on loose items brought into the church)
